Back to wonderland.

This is my homage to Hobbes. Those in the know should recognize it.

I had fun with the last panel: all the clothing clinging as tightly as they can. Reminded me of animals; how a dog leans against your legs, sitting as tightly as possible next to you, as if to stake a claim.

Inspiration for that last panel was a hamster. His heart beats rapidly, his breath shallow, like that of a terrified hamster being batted about in the deadly paws of a kittah. It's poetic if you don't think about it.

For those interested, I'm posting the WIP for this in my scraps. I sent it to :iconthemightypegasus: for a brief critique prior posting. Notice any diff?
Here's that [link]

MG (c) Me, obviously.

Noah's doors got blown open.

(That's another way of saying that someone's been knocked back.)

Im a latecomer to ths comic strip. I loved Calvin and Hobbes, and like you way of drawing and scripting it.

So he's sitting on the sidewalk wearing only a skirt, socks and shoes.

Up between the ' P' and the 'O' in panel 2, there is a piece of clothing with stripes on.
Is it a smaller, subtler homage to Hobbes? Besides that, what is it really?
Otherwise, it also looks like Tigger's head facing away xP

Ah, not to burst your bubble but that's the top half of the Sailor Uniform. ^^ Homage aside, that part was coincidental.

On another note, Noah's hair and that band part of the outfit fit him like a glove.

This is one of my favorite strips.

As far as an experiment in an otherwise braindead, exclusively erotic genre (please mommy, make them go away), this is the best, most humourous, most thoughtful and most heartwarming strip I've ever read. You're clearly inspired with your own direction, which helps drive both the creativity in detail and the good pace of the story and development of the poor protagonist as it goes.

The biggest help is definitely Bill Waterson, as this strip kindly pays homage to (I remember seeing the Sunday strip in question that's inspired the comic, and laughing for days about it). I really like the shading, it makes Noah and the rest of the panels come out very well.

Makes me wonder what his sister's clothes 'want' with him, and how they and Noah will interact in the rest. Catching up on the rest of the story now - just thought I'd leave this nod of support here for you.

Thank you for sharing in my exasperation at the genre's current predicament.

Consider it a nod well taken. ^_^

Props on another excellent Calvin and Hobbes reference, all that you have missing now are day dreams of being a space hero, a red wagon and a smart goodygoody of a girl who will doubtlessly one day end up married to the idiotic, yet amusing, protagonist that she enjoys mocking daily. Congrats on continuing to make me chuckle.

Hmm... hadn't thought about daydreams...

And as for a love interest, I believe that role has already been filled. Susie'll have to wait until she comes across a girl possessed by men's clothing.

Glad you're enjoying the comic!

They missed him >w<

This is funny for all the same reasons that C&H was funny with the running tackling gag (and Inspector Clouseau's Cato attacks), plus it acts to establish the clothing's relationship with Noah, which seems to be more than mere (demonic) possession. I like that the high-heeled shoe has joined in the attack (glomp?), which further heightens the effect. It is a sexy shoe. I wonder if you will develop its character?
HeartGear Featured By Owner Jul 18, 2008  Professional Digital Artist
You noticed the high heel? I think it's interesting that you mention the development of the individual clothing's character. So far I've only focused on ribbon.

mikeinverse Featured By Owner Jul 17, 2008
Too funny, clobbered by clothes in classic Calvin and Hobbs fashion <snickering over unintentional pun>.

XD Figures they'd have that sort of "Relation" by now. ... Love the movment in the second panel.

Cats act the same way, though they aren't quite as expressive as dogs are. But all the time when I get home from work, I get cats who either try to jump in my lap or rub my legs so I'll pay attention to them.

Calvin and Hobbes style? Nice One!
Taigan Featured By Owner Jul 9, 2008
Very nice C&H reference. :XD:

It's going to be bad for him if the clothes miss him this much after one day. With them all trying to have a chance to wear him, he's going to turn into one of those girls who changes outfits every 15 minutes. =p

Awesome :3 I love this comic <3

and yeah, I noticed the difference :3
Fire-Flight Featured By Owner Jul 9, 2008
So the ribbon never went with Noah to school? I assume that is why he was able to tell his story to his friends.

I like how the clothes tackle him like that, it really does remind me of a big dog who just plows into you when you come home. Its inconvienant, even a little annoying, but nonetheless you know the dog loves you. I like how the clothing shows affinity to noah, it shows that they aren't exactly the villian; just the anit-hero to noahs story.Or is Noah the anti-hero to thier story :O
