It's always interesting to me to see how the script looks when it's just a script, and how it plays out in actual comic pages.   Like... why doesn't Erickson just immediately shoot?   I can make arguments against it like... he might hit Hart.   He doesn't actually ever have a clear shot.   But it can create these odd moments where, yes, it ends up feeling like he isn't actually trying to rescue Hart with all he's got.

I'm also trying this looser approach.   I know it might not seem like it exactly.  Basically I'm using a significantly bigger brush and not getting as close.   I used to work with a 9pt brush and now I'm using more like a 20-25.   I usually rule all my backgrounds (use a ruler) but htis time I just dashed it in there.  

Anyway, I like the general feel of how the... production of this page felt and I plan to go more with that in the coming pages.   Just sayin.

So I'm going through a minor art... crisis?   I think maybe that's too strong a word for it.   Anyway, the long and short of it is that I want the generation of these pages to feel much more dynamic and energetic than it has been, and I think the energy in this page woke me up to that fact.    I'm toying with going a little looser with the lineart and toning and just like, everything really and see if that helps with the overall feel of the page work.

See, I drew that last panel... panel 5, and I just really really loved the feel of it.   I didn't want to go in and clean it up at all because I was afraid it was gonna kill the energy of it.

So we'll see.   This page is nearly finished but it'll have to wait till tomorrow.
