GamerGate What?

Okay.

So I'm really crazy busy and have a tendency to miss social stuff, and I just found out about this.
I've read about a dozen articles and all of them seem to make the GamerGate thing sound like it's pretty much the worst.

If anyone can point me to any resource that talks about it favorably, I'm totally game.

But what I DO know really bothers me.

Like how the thing started around slander and abuse.
And how it led to volatile harassment campaigns and death threats that drove several women to go into hiding or quit their jobs.
Or how Anita Sarkeesian had to cancel her college speaking even because someone was specifically targeting feminists and threatening to set off bombs and enact a school massacre.
And how what the movement seems to be claiming:  the demand for journalism transparency and ethical behavior... seems to completely ignore big money and big biz and instead seeks out and targets indie developers and, specifically, women and minorities.

And I get that every group has it's bad eggs.
I do.

But this...
This is outrageous.   And I fail to see how the one side is an equal victim in the circumstances.
I just don't hear, I can't find, any information about the kinds of equal grievances committed on the side of Women, or LGBT, or Minority advocates.

I just...
I don't get this at all.
