The Dream Project

When I was in college I ran an online RPG called "Sky's End" 

We played twice weekly for three years.

hundreds of sessions.

A whole world of adventure.

But times change.

I ran the game with two friends, one who I was infatuated with (and she became my girlfriend), the other who was a close female friend.   But things change.  Towards the end of my college career, I ended the relationship with the one girl... and the fallout of that (and other things) largely ended my friendship with the other.

The game concluded successfully, regardless, and since then I haven't looked back (much).

Sometimes when I look back over the wreckage of past experiences, past decisions, I come across these little "artifacts" that take me back to the time we were working on this story together.  It's a melancholy, bitter sweet feeling.

I still love this project fiercely: Sky's End.   It was a wonderful mix of poignant, wild, emotional, fun, occasionally racy exploration of a world with friends.  Perhaps I'm nostalgia blind, but I sometimes do wonder if I'll ever be able to recapture the magic of Sky's End again, or of Material Girl for that matter.

I miss exploring worlds through story.

Perhaps after the Tarot project I really will be able to start up Systems of Entertainment again.  I sometimes think I might be wasting my time on that, since I have to juggle copyright and risk Intellectual Property infringement.

But in some ways there's no going back.

And everything carries its own magic, 

if you have the courage to find it, that is.
