One of my artistic goals is to get a whole lot better at drawing hulking muscular Chris Redfield-esque characters.   Even though I'm primarily interested in drawing gals, I think being able to draw men gives a point of comparison and actually makes the women look more womanly... if that makes any sense.   At any rate, Erickson is my current "work on muscley man" subject and I'm really enjoying it.

I like the atmosphere on this one too.   It feels, I think, sufficiently creepy.   I want there to be this sense of looming dread and it's amazing what like, puttin in that gradient in panel 2 and 3 does to establish that.

And here we go...

Spent the majority of today thumbnailing out the rest of the chapter, but still found some time right at the end to squeak out a rough for today's update.   I like working on distressing buildings <3 

Been listening to a LOT of RedLetterMedia/ Half in the Bag.. and boy, it sure is humbling listening to people tear apart movies.  I think... making art and stories is actually really really really hard.  So many things have to come together.  The script, the pacing, the visuals, the character design, the page composition etc etc etc.   Everything else can be totally aces but if one of those things isn't working, the whole project can fall apart.

I don't know if my work will ever be as great as I want it to be... but I can't help but keep on trying.

Anyway, this little pinch of self doubt brought to you by bondage bites (tm).  What could be better than ballgags for breakfast?
